When you set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your account after successfully registering on BCNEX, make sure you save the BACKUP KEY, it is necessary that you can use it to access your account again, in case you lose your phone or device.
- You can get your BACKUP KEY when you do the 3rd step of setting up 2FA, and save it somewhere safe. (to know more about setting up 2FA, please refer to article "What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and how to set up 2FA on a Bcnex account ?").
STEP 3 - BACKUP KEY (MUST SAVE)
How to use backup key to recover 2FA?
- Having new phone or device ?
You can use your backup key that you saved at that time of setting up 2FA to restore your Bcnex account on your Google Authenticator Application (GG Auth App).
You will need to add a Bcnex account again in your GG Auth App and either manually enter the 16-digit key that you saved.
You may now continue using your GG Auth App for logging into Bcnex.
- Don’t have a backup key?
If you do not have a backup of your 16-digit key, please submit a support ticket to Bcnex Support Center for assistance. (to know more about resetting 2FA, please refer to article “How to reset Google Two-factor Authentication (2FA code) ?”)
Resetting 2FA Authentication requires opening a support ticket and may takes up to 15-20 days to process.
NOTE: Support for resetting 2FA Authentication is only for users, who have verified accounts successfully (to know how to KYC on Bcnex, please refer to article “How to register & KYC on Bcnex.net ?”).
